Building on the foundation established in Improving Outcomes 2022, this series provides attendees the opportunity to hear from and engage with national experts and local leaders and deepen their understanding of people with disabilities as a focus of population health. The one-hour roundtables include lived experience, didactic presentation, and opportunity for interaction. Each session is designed to both challenge your thinking and change your practice, providing you with tools and resources you can use immediately. Special attention will be paid to topics such as intersectionality and equity.

• Over 2 million adults in Ohio have a disability. These adults are more likely to have depression, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and to smoke.
• Adults with developmental disabilities have significantly higher rates of all unmet care needs (dental, vision, and mental health) than the general population.
• Racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to experience disability than other groups. In Ohio, nearly one-third of African Americans and 40% of Hispanics have a disability.
• Almost 70% of Ohio’s Hispanic population with disabilities report having fair or poor health – compared to 7% of Ohio’s white, non-disabled population.
